Frequently Asked Questions

Honest answers before you ever pick up the phone.

General

What cities does ClearWater NH serve?
We serve all of southern New Hampshire including Manchester, Nashua, Bedford, Merrimack, Londonderry, Derry, Hudson, Amherst, Milford, and the surrounding Rockingham and Hillsborough County towns. We also serve select northern Massachusetts communities.
How do I find the best water treatment solution for my home?
It starts with a free on-site water test. We test for PFAS, hardness, iron, arsenic, bacteria, and other common contaminants — then recommend a system that fits your water chemistry and budget.
What are the signs of hard water in southern NH?
White scale buildup on faucets and showerheads, spotted glassware, dry skin and hair, shortened appliance lifespan, and soap that won't lather well are all signs of hard water.

Installation

How long does installation take?
Most whole-home filtration or softener systems are installed in 2–4 hours. Reverse osmosis systems take 1–2 hours. We work around your schedule and clean up completely when done.
Do you handle the permit and plumbing?
Yes. All installations are performed by licensed plumbers. We pull any required permits and handle all aspects of the installation — you don't need to coordinate anything.
Can you install a system in a basement or utility room?
Absolutely. Most whole-home systems go in the basement, utility room, or near the water entry point. We'll identify the best location during the free water test visit.

Pricing

What's included in the installed price?
Our quoted prices include the equipment, all installation labor by a licensed plumber, startup and programming, and a first-year service warranty. No surprise add-ons.
Do you offer financing?
Yes, we work with financing partners to offer monthly payment options. Ask us for details when you get your quote.
Why does your pricing vary by range?
The final price depends on your plumbing configuration, water chemistry, and the exact equipment spec. We nail it down after the free water test, always within the quoted range.

PFAS & Rebates

How does the NH PFAS rebate program work?
The NH PFAS Remediation Grant Program provides rebates of up to $10,000 for qualifying homes with confirmed PFAS contamination. We handle the entire application process for you at no extra cost.
Do I need a lab test to qualify for the PFAS rebate?
Yes. You need a certified lab test showing PFAS levels above the NH threshold. We coordinate the lab testing and collect the sample during our visit. Results take 5–7 business days.
Is my town covered by the Saint-Gobain settlement?
The consent decree covers specific towns, but PFAS has migrated beyond those boundaries. If you have a private well in southern NH, you may qualify regardless of your town. Contact us — we'll help you find out.

Maintenance

How often do filters need replacing?
Water softeners need salt refilled every 4–8 weeks. RO filters typically need replacement annually. We'll give you a specific maintenance schedule for your system.
Do you service systems you didn't install?
Yes. We service Kinetico, EcoWater, Hellenbrand, Pentair, and most other brands — even if you didn't buy from us.

Licensing

Are you licensed in NH and MA?
Yes. ClearWater NH is registered as a Home Improvement Contractor in both New Hampshire and Massachusetts. All installations are performed by licensed plumbers. We carry full liability insurance.
